Greetings Fellow Region III Members!

One of the main factors driving the success of NCURA in providing excellent program offerings is the hard work of many member volunteers. Each year NCURA seeks volunteers to assist with meetings, events, committees, other NCURA activities. One of the most rewarding ways to make your experiences with NCURA their best is to volunteer. I speak from experience here - having taken part in NCURA offerings for many years before becoming involved as a volunteer. My experiences with NCURA have always been good; but now that I am actively involved through volunteering, I feel more connected to the organization’s members and am getting greater benefit from my experiences with NCURA. Plus – volunteering is fun!

As Volunteer Coordinator for Region III, my job is to help you get involved. I am here to let you know what volunteering opportunities are available, to ensure that your skills are maximized in your volunteering roles, and to make sure that you are able to get involved with NCURA at whatever level you are ready for. Start small by working the Registration Desk or Hospitality Suite at a Regional Meeting for a two hour shift or jump in with both feet and become involved with a committee (below) or as a presenter. There is no limit to the opportunities available for you to help NCURA succeed and make some wonderful friends in the process!

Her are some of the annual regional opportunities available for volunteers.

  • Regional Program Committee (8-10 members)
  • Nominating and Elections Committee (3-5 members)
  • Membership/Awards Committee (3-5 members)
  • Hospitality Committee (3-5 members)
  • Site Selection Committee (3 members)

In addition to these formal Committee Assignments, opportunities for volunteering during the NCURA National and Region III Spring Meetings are also available in the below listed areas. I will send out a mass e-mail notification in advance of these meetings soliciting volunteers. You may respond at that time or you may e-mail me anytime you get the desire to give back to NCURA!

  • Presenting/Co-Presenting Concurrent Sessions
  • Facilitating/Moderating Discussion Groups
  • Greeting arriving attendees at the Registration Desk
  • Keeping things running smoothly at the Hospitality Suite
  • Ensuring AV/Technical Equipment/Handouts are ready prior to program sessions

If you are interested in volunteering, please let me know! Send me an e-mail and let me know if there is a specific area in which you would prefer to volunteer and when you would like to offer your support to NCURA.

I look forward to working with you and thank you for your willingness to volunteer!

Remember - Your membership in NCURA is what you make of it.

With regards,
Rick
