Jill Frazier-Tincher

Jill Frazier Tincher is the Senior Director of Research Administration at the University of Miami , Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine. Jill has worked for the University of Miami since 1994. During this time, she has worked extensively in both central and departmental administration. Jill has been an active member of NCURA since 1995. From 2000-2005, she was the E-News Editor and a member of the Professional Development Committee. Jill has served on the Region III Program Committee for the past four years. She has been a frequent presenter at NCURA National and Regional meetings on topics ranging from pre-award, post-award management, and developing educational programs. Jill has also been a member of the RMR Review Board since 2003.

The Regional Chairperson
serves as the chief executive officer of Region III, having the responsibility
of calling meetings, appointing committee members, and generally directing
the activities of the region. The Regional Chairperson shall be the
second person authorized to sign checks drawn on the region's account.
The Regional Chairperson, at the conclusion of the term of office,
shall serve as Immediate Past Chairperson

Region III Chair-Elect
Jennifer Shambrook
St. Jude Hospital

Jennifer Shambrook has worked in the field of Research Administration since 1986. She has worked in both departmental and central administration at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, she was the director of the pre-award office at Allegheny University of the Health Sciences, director of pre- and post- award at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic, Vice-Chair for Research Administration for the Department of Psychiatry at the Medical University of South Carolina, and is now the Director of the Grants and Contracts Management Office at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. She has been a member of NCURA since 1997 and has frequently spoken at Region II and Region III meetings.

She published the Research Administrators Stress Perception Survey in the RMR in 2007 and is a Ph.D. candidate at Walden University and is currently working on her dissertation in the area of stress and health behaviors in research administrators. Jennifer is a long-time member of NCURA's stage band, Soul Source and the No Cost Extensions. She has given seminars and workshops on various research administration, professional development and grantsmanship topics at universities in the U.S., Canada, Russia, Ghana, Nigeria, Uganda, Tanzania, and England. She is looking forward to giving a plenary address at the Australasian Research Manager's Conference in New Zealand this September on mediating stress in the research environment.
The Chairperson-Elect serves
as the second chief executive officer of the region and shall assume
the duties of the Regional Chairperson in his/her absence. The Chairperson-Elect
shall assume the office of Regional Chairperson at the expiration
of the Chairperson's elected term of office, or upon the death, recall,
or resignation of the Chairperson. The Chairperson-Elect shall assist
the Regional Chairperson, as requested, in directing the activities
of the region and shall serve as Chairperson of the Program Committee
for the regional annual meeting. |

Secretary
Beryline Temples
University of Central Arkansas

Beryline Temples has worked at the University of Central Arkansas for over twenty years and in Research Administration since 1996. During this time, she has worked in the central administration office of Sponsored Programs. Beryline has been a member of NCURA since 2000, served on several Region III committees, chaired the Nominations and Elections Committee for Region III, served as a workshop evaluator at national and regional meetings, and has been a volunteer helper many times at the national and regional meetings. |
The Secretary is responsible for maintaining the minutes of the regional
business meetings and the official membership roster of the region.
Minutes of regional business meetings shall be obtained from the outgoing
Secretary and delivered to the incoming Secretary. The Secretary will
make appropriate reports at regional meetings. |

Cynthia (Cindy) Hope
Treasurer
The University of Alabama

Cynthia (Cindy) Hope is the Assistant Vice President for Research and Director of the Office for Sponsored Programs at The University of Alabama.
Her responsibilities include Sponsored Programs Administration (pre-award), Contract and Grant Accounting and Cost Analysis. Prior to coming to Alabama, she worked for the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in the areas of Costing, Grant and Contract Accounting and Financial Accounting and Reporting. Cindy came to UAB from Coopers and Lybrand, now PricewaterhouseCoopers, and is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive). Cindy has served as workshop faculty, presenter, committee member and Regional officer in the National Council of University Research Administrators, is a member of the faculty for the annual National Association of College and University Business Officers Facilities and Administrative Rate Workshop, is an active member of the Council on Governmental Relations and serves as the administrative representative for the University in the Federal Demonstration Partnership.

| The Treasurer is responsible for maintaining the financial records of the region. The Treasurer shall collect, deposit, and disburse regional funds. The Treasurer shall be responsible for the preparation of the region's annual budget for endorsement by the Regional Chairperson. The budget period will coincide with each Regional Chairperson's term of office. The Treasurer will make appropriate reports at regional meetings.

Erica Gambrell
Treasurer Elect

Erica Gambrell is Manager Contract and Grant Accounting, at the University of Alabama.
Her responsibilities and expertise include Effort Reporting and Management of C&GA Reporting and Information Systems functions. Erica also serves as a webmaster for University of Alabama’s Research website. Prior to coming to Alabama in 2007, she was the Senior Treasurer for Mercedes-Benz US International, Inc. She has been a member of NCURA since 2007 and has been an active volunteer at both regional and national meetings.

Thomas J. (Tom) Roberts
Region III Board Member
Florida Gulf Coast University

Thomas J. (Tom) Roberts is Associate Vice President for Research at Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Florida. He has been a professional research administrator for over twenty years and has worked at various types of institutions including comprehensive, doctoral granting, medical school, and major research university environments. Tom has been an active member of NCURA serving in numerous capacities at both the regional and national level. Tom has led numerous presentations and workshops during his tenure as a research administration professional. He authored the first doctoral dissertation focusing specifically on the field of research administration. He earned his doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Central Florida.

The Regional NCURA Board Member shall serve a term of
office as specified in the NCURA By-laws and shall represent the region
at NCURA Board meetings. The Regional NCURA Board Member shall report
relevant discussions, actions, and plans of to the regional membership
during regional business meetings.
