Spring Region III Meeting
May 3-6, 2009

"Innovative Strategies, the Necessary Tools to Win the Battle"

Going Green

Region III is following the example set by the National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA) National Office by providing session handouts electronically prior to the meeting. By providing electronic handouts in advance of a meeting, we can minimize printing and help the environment by conserving a few trees. This also gives our members an opportunity to review, download, and/or print session handouts prior to attending the meeting.

Please take this opportunity to review the Program Outline. Identify the sessions you anticipate attending. Reviewing the materials online may also assist you in determining the most appropriate session to attend. Once you’ve identified the sessions you anticipate attending, either download the session materials onto your laptop and/or print the materials. Bring these to the upcoming Region III Meeting.

Only a few sessions are not currently uploaded. If those materials are provided to us in advance of the meeting, they will be uploaded onto the site and we will send an update to the Region III members. Otherwise, those faculty WILL provide the materials at the time of their concurrent sessions. Discussion groups do not have printed materials. And, those registered for workshops, will receive workshop materials at the Region III Registration Desk.

A printed program will be provided when you check in at the Region III Registration area. In addition, each registrant will receive a Region III water bottle. Please bring this water bottle each day as we will have water stations throughout the meeting.

Dr. Coleman is the Director of the Florida State University Coastal and Marine Laboratory and Director of the undergraduate academic Certificate Program in Marine Biology. Her research experience is in the area of marine ecology, particularly as it relates to reef fishes and their use of habitat. She is particularly interested in how scientific findings are incorporated into laws and regulations that affect the management and conservation of the organisms that live in the ocean.

She is a creative thinker and a problem solver. Attend the Keynote offering on Monday, May 4th, to hear Dr. Coleman’s research experiences, how Investigators and Research Administrators may better work together and how scientific findings may benefit management and conservation efforts.
